CES Honors Doosan Bobcat for the World’s First All-Electric Construction Machine in Two Innovation Award Categories

WEST FARGO, N.D.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Doosan Bobcat (Bobcat) is being honored with two 2022 CES Innovation Awards in the categories of Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation and Smart Cities. The awards from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which recognizes outstanding product design and engineering in consumer technology products. The award was made ahead of CES 2022, the world’s most influential technology event to be held Jan. 5 – 8 in Las Vegas.

“Doosan Bobcat is honored to receive these awards, as the recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to innovation, technology and sustainability,” said Scott Park, CEO for Doosan Bobcat. “The awards recognize our efforts to build cutting-edge, smart machines while enhancing the power and performance the Bobcat brand is well-known for.”

As a CES Innovation Award Honoree, the company’s new Bobcat T7X all-electric compact track loader is the first of its kind in the world to be commercialized and fully electric, eliminating the need for hydraulic systems. This landmark advancement promises to redefine construction sites of the future and transform the way cities are built. In addition, the advanced sustainability of this totally new platform means no diesel fuel or hydraulic oil.

“This machine is not only a technological feat for Bobcat, but the entire industry,” said Joel Honeyman, vice president of global innovation at Doosan Bobcat. “We challenged the status quo to deliver a connected, all-electric machine engineered for power and performance previously not possible. We are excited to share this advancement with the world.”

The CES Innovation Awards program recognizes honorees in a multitude of consumer technology product categories and distinguishes the highest rated in each. Products are reviewed and scored by a panel of judges comprised of designers, engineers and technology media. Products are also evaluated on their engineering and functionality, aesthetics and design; and what makes the product unique and innovative.

The Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation award category highlights automotive and other transportation products and services that integrate technology into the driving or riding experience, whether by enhancing safety, navigation, improving the passenger experience or enabling self-driving functionality.

The Smart Cities category honors products, applications and technologies designed to be incorporated in a smart city, or smart venue, technology ecosystem. Smart cities are designed to improve and enhance the lives of the citizens and businesses who inhabit them.

Doosan Bobcat will showcase the technology behind the T7X loader and other innovations during a news conference at CES Media Days on Jan. 4, 2022, as well as exhibiting at CES 2022 in the vehicle technology section in West Hall at booth #5318.
