GEICO’s Associate-led Effort Drives Almost $25,000 in Community Donations in Hawaii

Company also filling 2,000 positions countrywide

HONOLULU–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As part of an associate-led effort, GEICO is donating more than $350,000 to charities across the country. From coast-to-coast, GEICO associates nominated non-profit organizations and projects for making a positive impact on their communities. More than 100 organizations were awarded donations.

“Our associates told us what was important to them, and we listened,” said GEICO Chief Human Resource Officer Rick Hoagland. “I’ve been touched by the passion GEICO associates show for helping their communities. We are happy to support the wonderful work these organizations are doing.”

In the Honolulu area, GEICO granted almost $25,000 in total donations to the following organizations:

  • 808 Cleanups
  • Hope For Dogs Rescue
  • Aloha United Way
  • HUGS (Helping, Understanding, & Group Support)
  • IHS Institute for Human Services, Inc.
  • Aloha Harvest
  • Show Aloha Challenge Foundation
  • MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)
