Nissan Frontier named Mid-Size Pickup Truck of Texas

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier continues to bring home awards, the most recent being voted “Mid-Size Pickup Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). Winners were determined during the annual TAWA Truck Rodeo, a three-day rugged terrain evaluation held at Star Hill Ranch in Bee Cave, Texas.

“Texas is Nissan truck country and the 2022 Frontier is right at home on the range, the ranches and the backroads with its best-in-class1 310-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 and maximum 6,720-pound towing capacity,” said Jared Haslam, vice president, Product and Services Planning, Nissan U.S. and Canada. “We’re honored to be recognized again by the Texas Auto Writers Association.”

The all-new 2022 Frontier builds on Nissan’s six-plus decades of mid-size truck leadership with a bold new exterior, adventure-oriented interior and the latest driver assistance and connectivity technologies. It is an authentic mid-size truck with a range of body, drivetrain and equipment configurations carefully selected to fit customer needs.

“It’s clear that Nissan put a lot of work into redesigning the Frontier, and it shows,” said TAWA President Kristin Shaw. “Our members were impressed by not only its prowess both on and off the dirt, but also its comfortable and upgraded interior. We are glad we had the opportunity to put the Frontier through its paces, Texas style.”

Along with its powerful new exterior, Frontier features an available, largest-in-class 9-inch color touchscreen display1 with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ standard on all models. Further making life easier, a largest-in-class2 standard 7.0-inch Advanced Driver Assist Display offers configurable information directly in front of the driver. Addressing common customer needs, Frontier provides 4.0 liters of center console storage – almost double that of most midsize pickups.

The 2022 Frontier is available in King Cab and Crew Cab body configurations, 4×2 and 4×4 drive and choice of S, SV PRO-4X (4×4 only) and new-for-2022 PRO-X (4×2 only).
