Perficient Unveils Expanded 2024 Roster of Formula SAE and Formula Student Teams in Innovative ‘Electrifying the Future of Automotive’ Program

SAINT LOUIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

The next generation of automotive leaders are accelerating the transition from internal combustion engines (ICE) to more sustainable and energy-efficient options. Perficient’s Electrifying the Future of Automotive program is advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education by empowering college students to design, build, and race the next generation of formula-style racing cars, including electric vehicles (EVs), in national and global competitions.

As part of the Electrifying the Future of Automotive program, Perficient’s experts meet with students to share how automotive companies work with Perficient, discuss career opportunities, tour team garages, and support each team as they compete.

Perficient has partnered with teams representing the following universities:

  • Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon
  • Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Stuttgart
  • Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Northwestern University
  • Texas A&M University
  • The Ohio State University
  • University of Colorado, Boulder

“The Texas A&M SAE Formula Electric Team’s mission is to design, build, and test a competitive electric formula-style race car. We aim to foster a sustainable learning environment with multidisciplinary operations in order to execute industry-relevant projects,” said Holden Sparr, Texas A&M team representative. “Perficient’s partnership is more than a sponsorship; it’s an engaging collaboration that directly contributes to providing practical, hands-on experiences and learning opportunities vital for empowering the next generation of engineers.”

Perficient’s Automotive Expertise

Serving seven of the top 10 global OEMs and many more suppliers, dealers, and emerging mobility companies, Perficient’s automotive industry experts champion a digital-first, customer-driven approach to connected vehicles, electrification, and omnichannel commerce.

In 2023, Perficient published research that revealed opportunities for legacy automakers and dealers to improve the customer experience and accelerate the adoption of EVs. The research indicated the EV buying experience is more aligned with customer preferences and offered data-backed strategies for OEMs and dealers to improve the car-buying experience.

“We are thrilled not only to continue but also to expand our support of college racing teams as we enter our second year of the program,” said Keith Tomatore, automotive industry lead, Perficient. “Our partnerships symbolize Perficient’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in automotive engineering to drive the future of the industry forward.”
