COLOMA, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#InclusivePlay–City of Coloma Downtown Development Authority recently capped off a renovation of Randall Park, where Jelly Bean Playground Rubber Mulch was installed throughout.
Coloma’s Randall Park, first built in 1999, was in need of a safe, durable, and non-toxic play surface.
“When we assessed the needs of the city park, it quickly became clear that our product was a perfect fit. This is an ideal use case for our safety play surface,” notes Jelly Bean CEO Nic Campesi.
When discussing the quality and durability of the product, Marsha Hammond, city commissioner and project coordinator for the Coloma Downtown Development Authority explains, “We are impressed! Most importantly, the Jelly Bean non-toxic rubber mulch is a hit with those playing on it most.
“Kids love the Jelly Bean mulch. They love the colors—it is not hot to step on in the summer. It is easy to walk and run on. I was surprised how solid it feels under foot,” notes Hammond.
Because of Jelly Bean, some children are now able to play at Randall Park for the first time.
“We had one mother tell us her son could not play at Randall Park because of his allergies—this year he played with his friends with no problem. Enough said,” explained Hammond.
Other updates to the park include new picnic tables and benches donated by Coloma H.S., as well as a bike rack and new drinking fountain. Volunteers helped resurface walking paths, re-sealed wooden play structures, and swing sets.
