MEDFORD, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Agero, which offers technology-enabled breakdown and accident assistance for more vehicles than any other provider in North America, today announced its Alternative Transportation product, serviced by rideshare company Lyft, has been named a winner in the 2021 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group.
Recently-expanded, Alternative Transportation allows insurers the ability to offer complimentary or deeply discounted Lyft rides to policyholders involved in an accident and requiring transportation. Drivers can leverage the ride to get wherever they need following their accident – home, work, repair shop or other destination. In severe accidents, when necessary, Agero will engage emergency services. This option complements existing rental car provisions on many policies to significantly improve flexibility for insurers, while transforming, modernizing and streamlining the accident assistance experience for potentially millions of drivers.
Also available as an option for insurers when handling typical roadside breakdown events, Alternative Transportation has shown to both increase customer satisfaction and generate positive sentiment:
- Improved Net Promoter Score (NPS): NPS improved for all consumers offered alternative transportation, even those who did not accept.
- Increased Satisfaction: Of those consumers that accepted a ride, a majority reported high satisfaction with the service.
- High Potential Adoption Rate: Nearly all consumers indicated they would consider using this service as part of their roadside program.
“While we may not be able to prevent drivers from getting in accidents, we can provide them the highest level of care when they need it most – and get them back on their way quickly,” said Steve Medeiros, vice president, Agero. “Our innovative Alternative Transportation enables insurers to offer a more convenient, safe and transparent accident management experience for their customers, while also allowing them to benefit from greater cost control and flexibility.”
“More than ever, the global society relies on innovation to help progress humanity and make our lives more productive, healthy and comfortable,” said Maria Jimenez, chief operating officer of the Business Intelligence Group. “We are thrilled to be honoring Agero as they are one of the organizations leading this charge and helping humanity progress.”
Organizations from across the globe submitted their recent innovations for consideration in the BIG Innovation Awards. Nominations were then judged by a select group of business leaders and executives who volunteer their time and expertise to score submissions.
