Creativity Contest: FinishMaster announces Hood Master painting competition

Toronto, Ontario — FinishMaster announced yesterday that that company is holding its first-ever Hood Master Challenge, a contest that will allow painters to show off their painting skills and snag some stellar prizes along the way.

Painters have until March 6 to register, and each will receive a free mini hood from FinishMaster, which they will turn into a work of automotive art. All hoods will be returned to FinishMaster headquarters in Indianapolis to be judged for the overall best submission, best technical skill and crowd favourite.

The first place contestant will be awarded $2,000 in cash and a paint gun. Second place will receive $1,000 and a paint gun, while third place will take home $500 and a paint gun.

The crowd favourite will receive $250 cash, along with a new paint gun.

The only slated requirements are that the entrants submit a hood on deadline, are a FinishMaster customer and provide a list of products used on their projects. Paint and abrasive lines will not be dictated or limited for the contest.

Registration ends on March 6, and mini hoods will be delivered to contestants between March 14 and April 12. Hoods will need to be returned to Indianapolis by April 17.

FinishMaster will host an exhibition in Indianapolis on May 1 to select winners and showcase the artwork.

Several of FinishMasters partners are sponsoring the contest, and each company will be able to send a representative to the May 1. Sponsors are: Axalta, AkzoNobel, 3M, INDASA, SATA, Norton, IWATA and SMART.
