Las Vegas, Nevada — November 3, 2017 — AkzoNobel has partnered with hot rod builder Dave Kindig to launch ‘Modern Classikk’, a new custom line of automotive paints.
Speaking at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the line of 26 new colours was introduced by both AkzoNobel and Kindig. Black Hole Black, Teal Later and Veruca Violet were just three of the colours announced from the line, which will be available in January 2018.
Speaking to an audience, Kindig, who is also the host of “Bitchin’ Rides” on Discovery’s Velocity Channel, commented that he “fully expects that Modern Classikk will take its place as the premier brand for classic car builders around the world.”
“I’m lucky to have people like AkzoNobel that have helped my dreams come true, and hopefully we’ve made some colours that will help your dreams come true,” he added.
The introduction of the Modern Classikk paint brand comes almost a year to the date after AkzoNobel and Kindig announced their partnership. Over the past 12 months, Kindig worked closely with AkzoNobel to develop the new paint line.
He visited the company’s vehicle refinishes site in Troy, MI to connect with AkzoNobel’s team and to learn more about their expertise in creating, what he called, “groundbreaking” refinishing solutions.
“The Modern Classikk brand includes 26 eye-catching colours that have never been seen on the road before,” said Jennifer Solcz, North American Marketing Manager for AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes business. “Dave’s vision and dedication have helped us to create a line of automotive paints that are truly unique with unparalleled excellence in depth, clarity and quality.”
