Mirka launches new lightweight sander

Mirka said its design team has been able to reduce the weight, size and height of the sander, providing customers with a “compact, lightweight and easy to use tool.”

St. Laurent, Quebec — November 27, 2017 –– Mirka has launched its new lightweight Direct Electric Orbital Sander (DEOS), which it claims can get closer to the surface, access hard-to-reach areas and deliver a “flawlessly smooth finish quicker than other sanders.”

It features a brushless motor which provides a high power to weight ratio when in use. Mirka said its design team has been able to reduce the weight, size and height of the sander, providing customers with a “compact, lightweight and easy to use tool.”

Available in two sizes, DEOS 383 CV 2.75 x 7.75 inches and DEOS 353 CV 3 x 5 inches, the sander is suitable for use across multiple applications, including body filler and primer sanding, according to Mirka.

The DEOS is the only electric orbital sander on the market that has been optimized for NET abrasives, claims the company, by incorporating more than 45 holes in the pad. When the tool is combined with Mirka’s NET and paper abrasives, it offers a “scratch pattern and a dust-free work environment.”

An integrated vibration sensor with bluetooth technology can be connected to a mobile device with the company’s myMirka app to give guidance on vibration levels.
